How do I know my family is safe with Family Cab?

Our history

Family Cab is run by the owner/operators of Perth Designated Drivers (a registered trading name of the company Sober Drivers Pty Ltd, ABN 71 153 703 238).

 

Perth Designated Drivers has been operational since 2010. Through our commitment to a safe, reliable service where our customers come first, we have built a strong, loyal client base in an industry where most of our competitors have faded away.

 

We have transported over 10 000 thousand passengers, and never had an accident in the history of the business.

 

Family Cab is a local, family-run business that benefits from the Perth Designated Driver experience – we know the business, we know the area, and we know kids.

In 2018 we launched FamilyCab in Sydney NSW using a professional sub-contractor network. In 2019 we were able to begin offering service in Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast

Our cars, car seats and booster seats

All of our cars are fully insured and fitted with high quality car and booster seats that conform to Australian Standards and all drivers are trained in proper installation.

 

We follow the National Guidelines for the Safe Restraint of Children Travelling in Motor Vehicles - developed by Neuroscience Research Australia (NeuRA) and Kidsafe - The Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia. The National Guidelines provide best practice recommendations that have been approved by the National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC). 

 

Legislation

FamilyCab is governed the Omnibus legislation enacted in July 2016 for charter vehicles in WA.

 

All of our drivers have an appropriate charter vehicle licence for the applicable state. This means they have passed police checks, a medical exam and have a clean driving record.

To drive for us they must have their license for at least four years.

When working, they must have a blood alcohol reading of 0.00.

All drivers are trained and trialed by us before they can transport our customers. Training includes how to secure children in the car seat or booster seat if needed.

 

All drivers are fully insured to drive your car and ours (covering cars, property and public liability
